Default Help a jersey girl out please..

Looking for a great breeder in NJ (willing to travel to PA or neighboring states that are not too far of a drive)

Would love to get a puppy ASAP but willing to wait if the breeder is excellent!

I spoke with a breeder that has been in the business since the 1940s... Waiting on all the info but his prices are about $2000-2500. I feel like that is really high but then again I'm new to this! Is that the ballpark to be in or can I get a great pup from a great breeder for around $1500?

Thanks and looking forward to any referrals!

(Also I checked the breeders on the boxer clubs but I rather hear from
personal experiences/preferences)

NJ is expensive and it will be hard to find a breeder that has done all the recommended health testing. My prior research has led me to finding out that a bunch of NJ breeders "know their lines" and don't health test. That's a load of crap. You're better off looking out of state.

Here is an interesting thread explaining why a pup can cost so much: https://www.boxerforums.com/puppies-e...ng-litter.html You will want to ensure the proper health testing and screening is done. I figure better to pay for a quality pup than for vet visits or heartbreak. Sorry can't be of much help in your area. We went west to Ohio for ours but that would probably be pretty far from NJ.

Yea it would
Makes sense with the quality pup vs future potential vet bills!.. Good point
