Default Breeder/Puppy Recommendations

I'm hoping someone on here can help me find a good breeder/puppy.

I lost Brees 2 months ago to lymphoma, he was only 5. Brees was the best friend I've ever had. He was incredibly special to me, and I wish I had had more time with him. This was his 2nd bout with cancer, having had a Mast Cell Tumor removed when he was about 3 1/2. His end was very quick, and it took me a while to get over. I actually don't think I'll ever be over it, but I'm at least able to not think about it all the time now.

Although Brees was a great dog, he came from a BYB. He was incredibly handsome, exceptionally good mannered, in great shape, and an all around great dog. I could go on with the compliments forever. Unfortunately, his life ended way too soon. I know a lot more now than I did when I got Brees about what goes into healthy breeding standards and finding a good companion, but I'm having trouble finding a Breeder who meets these exceptional standards. I'm located in Colorado now, but I'm willing to go just about anywhere for the right dog. Closer would be better, but the right breeder/puppy is more important.

I'm not sure how much cancer has to do with genetics, and/or environment. And I know that nothing in life is guaranteed, but I feel I stand a better chance of finding a longer-termed, more healthy companion if it comes from a better place.

I've looked through Boxer Clubs for my state, and many others and I'm finding that most Kennels/Breeders linked on there are well out of date. I'm really hoping someone can help point me in the right direction, or give me a recommendation here. I'm ready for another best friend.

Here's Brees on our last hike together, about 3 weeks before he was gone. I loved him more than anything.

So sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I am of no help, just came back from a quick trip to Walmart and someone was picking out a puppy , the lady had 2 or 3 with her. I think someone bought one and she was giving them a choice as your no longer permitted to sell puppies in a parking lot, so I think it was just a meet up, they weren't out there actually selling. I wanted to stop but I no myself and figured I better not even go there. Our boxer is 10 months now and still being trained. Of course he actually belongs to my daughter so one day she will leave with him. But knowing she is going back to school for a 2 year program tell me she will be here awhile need for me to have another dog. Good luck in your search and Brees was really a beautiful looking boy.

I'm so sorry to hear about Brees

Doing a search for health tested boxer breeders should help you. If you find one and they do the health testing you're interested in and don't have any puppies - they can usually refer you to someone else.

Lynne - Thank you for your help. I'm not sure how I hadn't previously tried that combination of words in my search term, you think that'd be a given.

Thank you for your condolences with Brees, it is easier with each day.

I think I'm going with a puppy from Cadogans Boxers I've been in contact with them, and will probably be placed on waiting list for an August litter.

If looking for European breeders, the good quality ones are few and far between in the US. These are a few I would look into.

Dizara Boxers - Our Boxers

Von Bachbett Boxers - Boxers von Bachbett, German Boxer, Euro Boxer, german boxer puppies, working boxer, schutzhund boxer, schutzhund boxer puppies, working boxer puppies, european boxer, european boxer puppies, police dog boxer

Schattenboxen Boxers - Schattenboxen Boxers - European Boxers - German Boxer Breeder in Washington State USA
Kari ~ Keeper, servant and mommy to the following crew: Ava, Monroe, Harper & Boss

**Proudly Raw fed since 2009**
