Boy tough choice. They are both adorable and I like both colors.

My question is is this -

Heart murmur - can disappear if its a young puppy. Also how was it diagnosed? If its that bad enough that she does not want to breed that she is putting the pup in a pet home, then that is fine - however....what is she doing about the parents of this pup? Is she testing them to make sure that they are 100% sound via echo and holters???? Heart issues are majoirty genetic.

People who "seem like a very responsible owner" is 360 degree different from a 100% reponsible breeder!! and "seemed like she cared for her dogs" is again, much different than care for her dogs my health testing them, tracking health, showing, obedience and all that jazz. Anyone can be an awesome owner who cares for their pets and is responsible, but that does not classify them as the best breeder!!! - Just a thought.

yea its just a murmur so she is holding onto her at the moment to see if it goes away which u are def right about. she only had a 1 on her heart test but is waiting to see if the murmur clears out. From my visit with her I would have to say that me n the three friends that came with me thought she was a very responsible breeder. i think im leaning towards the darker brindle. anyone have any pictures of an older dog that may look like this.

ok then, what is your definition of a "responsible breeder"?

Not trying to be picky but this purchase is not a TV and you said you want to find the "PERFECT" companion. Its a living thing that is going to be your responsibility. Your pocket if it has heath or temperment issues, and something that is going to interact with family and friends. Youe emotions thru everything the good and the bad - its an investment! Make sure its worth it, and dont get swayed by good feelings and puppy breath!!

Also what makes the brindle breedable??? You mention she wants to hold on to her to breed but to me what else is her purpose??? There has to be certain characteristics that make you keep a pup. Then you test them in the ring. Make sure they are "good" breeding stock to even be bred. Compare what you are producing to what others are producing. They seem with their foster program to be very concerned with breeding. Yet they breed to their own stock. Each breeder who is truly taking the standard and their lines into consideration never breeds to their own dog. Hence why you look at many litter announcements you will see one kennels bitch, and another stud.

Did you look at the links that were posted to you about this breeder, and other people experiences? I agree with everything Heather said...this breeder does not sound like a reputable breeder...

Does she health test? And if she does, what for?
