Default I really wanted to take her home!

I tend to browse pets on kijiji because I love dogs and love pictures of dogs. I came across a gorgeous fawn female who was 1 year old and spayed. I by some miracle managed to convince my other half that this was a great idea for all of us. I felt bad because she had been listed for a month nad they were asking money for her, so to me that send that they just couldn't afford her. I sent them an email last night giving them the story on us and asking to meet them and her. This morning the ad was taken down and I still haven't got a call.
I'm really upset about this. I had originally planned on buying a Great Dane next year when we buy a bigger house. But right now is perfect for us and a 1 year old Boxer!
Since they wont be calling me back and I've already looked at all the boxer rescues in my area anyone know where I might be able to find a 1 year old female boxer?
*pouts* She was going to be my birthday present.

I know exactly how you feel. We went through the same thing. But then a couple of days later a lady posted an add for Dozer. Just be patient.

I'm in the same situation. I've responded to two different ads and didn't hear anything from either one. Purebred boxers, especially the nice ones, go within an hour after being posted around here! I responded to one within 2 hours yesterday - too late, I guess, because I haven't heard back from the people. I guess it will happen when it's meant to.

Aw that is a bummer. But I agree, maybe she wasn't the right one for you and the right one is just waiting for you somewhere.

Yeah pretty much. At least what I've seen from it. First discovered it when we were trying to find a male boxer puppy a few months ago. I sent emails to a couple of people there advertising their pups, and never heard anything from either of them.

Kijiji is the same as Craigs List just Canadian.

Hate to be the buzzkill but I would avoid getting dogs off of these sites. Most likely you are supporting BYB's and even if you're not, you are really rolling the dice on the type of health and temperament you are getting. Getting a dog from one of these sites is not a rescue. Rescue organizations screen for both health and temperament, there are no guarantees but at least there is a better chance of getting a good dog. Rescues and shelters are full of dogs at every given moment, why take a gamble? The dog may be cheap but longterm your vet and trainer bills could be much more than if you bought a price purebred pup. This is a lesson that myself and many others here have learned the hard way. Support responsible breeders and local rescues and shelters. A good start to finding these organizations is petfinder.com or visiting local contacts in person. My 2 cents.

No, I totally agree, I sort of got lost in the moment with her beautiful little face. I'm thinking of just contacting The owners of Octane sire and of his dam and seeing if they have any litters coming up or can recommend one, I mean I'd rather not have a puppy, but at least I know it will be well bred. Both parents are champions sire and dam of merit and the year before he was bred he was top boxer in canada. I just need to stop being a a wuss and stop looking at kijiji
