Default Looking for a reputable breeder close to NY

We recently lost our first ever boxer due to terrible health problems. We have a second boxer whom we adopted at home who is 2 years old and would like to get another boxer pup in the new year (Jan/Feb). Since we had such terrible health problems with our first pup, I want to be very careful about getting another to try and avoid such heartache at losing a pup so young (3 1/2). I appreciate any feedback and/or recommendations anyone can provide.

Best,
Amber

So sorry for your loss, how about jacquet boxers in nj or cachet boxers in NY.

There are a number of breeders in your area; you might want to start with some Boxer clubs and go from there. There's a listing of clubs here:
U.S. Boxer Clubs

I know you're probably aware of the health testing recommendations, given your past loss, but I'll link to them anyway just in case. You do want to be sure you see hard copies of test results; I know of some breeders in that area who say their dogs have been health tested but never seem to get around to providing the hard copies. (I'm sure there are breeders in any area that do that sort of thing, of course - I just haven't heard about them!) Also I have an article with questions to ask breeders that you might find helpful.

Jacquet boxer does not have any litters right now; I would do what Jennifer said by calling the local Boxer Clubs.

Thanks for the help. I'll give the boxer clubs a call and see about health tested pups. We were going to review the tests with our vet and have her help us scope out the breeder before we get another pup. I appreciate the insights. If a breeder is part of the Boxer club are they ok?
