Kenon Boxers

I have a very promising lead for a puppy from Nevada. The breeder is known as Kenon Boxers and so far I've learned that they do health testing and they are involved in showing. While I had my heart set on a flashy fawn male, they have an 11 week old flashy reverse brindle who is absolutely precious. I haven't stopped thinking about him since I saw his picture last night. He would need to be flown in if I were to purchase him which makes me a bit nervous, but I've been reading a lot of puppies that were flown in and made it just fine.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with Kenon? I'll be calling them a little bit later to talk to the man I've been emailing.

hi i know nothing cause i am from another country but i go to the pet shop and cuddle boxers and want to take them with me so imagine you how nervous and anxious you are, if you can't think about the brindle one i think you should be his mummy, good luck!!

I don't know anything about them outside of visiting the website a few times.. They do have some very nice looking boxers. Both reverse boys are cute! I personally like the plain reverse boy's body and head tho :) Good luck!!

Well, I guess we can scratch this puppy off the list too. :( The man I was dealing with via emails was very nice and helpful, but once again pricing is the roadblock. The puppy himself wasn't bad, but then I'd have to pay shipping on top of it and then the total cost would go over my price range ($1,500+). I hate putting a price tag on puppies like this, but in reality I need to find a balance between buying a healthy puppy while still paying off Riley's vet bills... along with my other bills...

Gotta tell you, this whole researching and being responsible thing is a lot harder than just opening up that newspaper and buying from a BYBer, but I'm confident that good things come to those who wait. I'd much rather wait for a healthy pup than end up with a sickly one. I just can't wait to find it...... sigh

I can just imagine how hard it is without your buddy or any pup at this point, but would waiting and trying to pay off the vet bills first put you in a better position for getting a pup afterwards? I'm just throwing it out there; if you pay off the vet bills first then you don't really have to worry as much about the cost of a new pup.... :)

I agree with Bosley'sMom.. It makes much more sense to pay off the vet bills and then save for the right puppy. I think you will be much happier that way. Plus.. don't forget that when you get your new puppy he/she will need vet visits for puppy vaccinations, fecal checks, etc. It's much better to be prepared from the start. Which is the very reason I haven't gotten another boxer yet :)

Yeah, I hear what you're saying but I really am lost without having someone here with me. It's like I don't know what to do without myself anymore. I do know that puppies are expensive to start and that is also part of the planning that I'm doing. If I were in a position where I could not support a puppy financially then I would put the search off as I am a firm believer in not getting something you can't afford, especially a pet. I guess it's really not so much that I can't afford to pay for a higher priced puppy it's more that I think $2,000+ is just to much. If that makes any sense. :)

What state do you live in?

Ril-Mas 11-08-2011 01:25 PM

Wow, guess I should update my profile. I live in New Hampshire.

Is your heart set on a puppy? You could always look into a rescue dog... It might cost you a little less but you would still get a great companion and maybe it would help fill the void.
