Have you gone for a vet check up ? I'd rule out medical issues first

How much food a day are you offering your puppy?

We had a vet/nutritionist advise that we add a cup of mashed white, or sweet, potato to the diet daily for a past dog recovering from weight loss with small intestinal disease. The weight came back very slowly, but it happened. Carbs add the calories.

I would look at what and how much you are feeding but also: Have you had him checked for parasites?
