Default Gopher

So my pup Bruno is going through his gopher stage and is digging like crazy. My grass is pretty much gone and my dad is scared to lay new sod because of my little guy's digging problem. He does have a designated digging area, but he hasn't even touched that area. Any suggestions?

Oh boy. I wish i had advice. Molly is three and still digs in the grass. My little cousin was over for Christmas. She asked me why my yard had holes in it. Ha ha i pointed to Molly.

I bought a bunch of "outside toys" for Porsha and Roxy and it has seem to keep them distracted enough not to dig. Maybe give Bruno a few toys and hopefully he will leave the grass alone???

I can only suggest you supervise Bruno when he is outdoors and give him some playtime. Left unattended many pups can get bored and will start digging.
Just an idea

I've probably spent $200 on toys these last three weeks! He destroys them in a matter of hours! He does have a Weimaraner companion who's 3 years old, but everytime I get home from work by dad tells me a new hole. I've bought him ropes, soccer balls, footballs, tennis balls, all sorts of squeaky toys, and even a small tire

How long is he left outside during the day? A boxer that's left outside to tear up toys is going to get bored and dig holes in the yard.

Wyatt dogs holes constantly no matter what the circumstance. We can come home from a long walk, he will do some boxer burns around the yard, stop and dig some then continue about his way. I've spent so much filling those dang holes!

When a young puppy my Max would dig to find roots and chew on them, maybe because he was teething. I took some grass cuttings and his poop and put it in the hole and filled it back in.Sometimes after filling in the hole I moved a fresh poop to the whole. Anyway he stopped digging the craters in the yard.

He's usually outside for 4-5 hours while I'm at work. I can't really try the poop thing because he just picked up another terrible habit, poop eating. I'm just confused why he stays away from his designated digging area and prefers to dig other parts of the yard. Could it be the texture of the dirty? Should I buy bags of mulch?
