Default Driving across US/Canada border into the US

So I'm starting to look into all the rules for crossing the border hearing up for our trip to Florida at Christmas and some of the rules can be confusing.

We have finally found food for Gypsy that doesn't aggravate her tummy and I'm worried that I might not be a to cross with it cuz it contains lamb. I don't want to have to look for a place that carries her food once I cross and take a chance that they don't have it. Any thoughts?

Also she can be very reactive to strangers especially if they come near me.

All of her paper work and vacations are up to date and her collar clearly states that she is deaf.

Is there anything I need to know?

Maybe put the food in a unmarked bag/container? Or you could put the food in a bag that doesnít have lamb on the ingredients. Iím not at all familiar with the law saying you canít bring lamb across the border but Iíd be willing to bet they donít mean dog food that has lamb as an ingredient, I canít see that being harmful to anyone/anything. If all else fails you could try to mail it.

I did find this on line not sure how accurate though

AI does state you cannot bring in pet food containing lab, sheep or goat. Do you have a brand name, maybe e it is sold here in the USA?

You can probably do a search so you you know where to go as you come into the USA, that way you can bring a small bag and then buy more once your here.
