Oh so when I get a horse or any critter and it doesn't work out I guess you all feel I should do the right think and give it away..For FREE...What Plant are you people from ??????
You know I locked the other thread hoping it would die down, however you dont want to seem to back down and a couple of others as well. This statement IMO is totally wrong. Why take posession and responsiblity for anything when you know you can turn it around and just rehome if for a discount. You should not be taking things in if you are not sure they are not going to work out - these are animals, and not a pair of jeans!

Sorry, I have seen WAY too many people rescue dogs and pay fees to to supporting an organization that takes in pets that people discard. I have volunteered in rescue and they dont make money..... Yes situations change and things to happen, and most people feel sooo much remorse and embarrasment when giving up a pet, but your attitude about money and the "nothing for free" comments just rub me the wrong way. You have had people support your decision, you have had people interested in your post with regards to taking in your little girl, and you have had some opposition. All in all while some agree with the fee, and others dont, ya leave it at that - you added fuel to the fire by talking about the money when this thread should have been about the pet!!

I am not the problem they keep coming to my thread and going on and on......I am not going to them they are coming to me and they are not dropping it......

I do not take getting a pet or any critter lightly....I also have worked at a rescue..I have seen many poor unloved pets..I assure you mine are loved and well cared for. I did not as stated before make this decision over night..When I get a pet or even a horse I get them with the intention of keeping them for live but we all no that is not all ways possible..I have a dog right now that is 23 years old. Before I got my Boxers I had a Lab for 13 years before she passed..I don't think people on here have the right to judge me the way they are.

Although I am glad your girl has a new forever home I am taken back by your attitude..I would be devastated..and certainly not able to post on a forum and bitch to others back and forth about money and wanting things for free..

There are many at fault, however in the other thread you knew the fee was a hot topic, yet in the post you mentioned it again, knowing that was going to ruffle feathers, and it did.

You did not ask for help, but when you post a thread about a boxer needing a home in a boxer forum, there are many and many of people who will jump out and try to help out - thats is what we do and what we are here for. Whether a food brand, training question or an emergancy. Never once did you thank the people who were interested even if they were wanting something for free?

Thats is as I am not going to beat a dead horse. The dog has a home with her new family. Best wishes to her!!! Lets keep it at that!!!

HannaBanana I think you over looked some of my post in all this going on because I did thank many..At least the ones that were being civil about the whole think.. I am off to love on my much loved and adored Murdoc..I am done with this thread..You can lock it if you feel it is needed. Thanks

I will say Thanks again to all the ones that were helpful, understanding, open minded, not quick to judge someone they don't even know and supportive sorry if you got lost in the going on of this thread. You were appreciated.

Oh my gosh..why would you make that statement of going to go love on your much loved and adored Murdoc?( your other boxer)...that is so cold and uncaring with just having to give your girl to another home..I think that is so awful..I better close this because I have much worse thoughts of what you are..

I am very glad you found your girl a new loving home, and please keep us updated on her.

As far as the "heated debate" goes, I can see both sides of it, but there's no need for it to get so ugly. I personally have a shepherd mix I am rehoming and yes, I have written that there is a fee (there really isn't, but I want him to go to a family that is serious about obtaining him) to ensure that he goes to a loving home. I have seen all too many dogs advertised as "free" and I think it can attract many irresponsible people who aren't prepared to take on the responsibility. However, on a forum like this where everyone clearly cares about and loves their pooches, anyone is a tough place should be honored that one of these members would take in their little girl. The point of a rehoming fee is to ensure a good home, not make money. (hmm, maybe I need to drop my graigslist ad and join a german shepherd forum to find his home)

On the same token, no, you did not beg for help, but people out of the goodness of their hearts offered to care for this beautiful girl for you. No they weren't going to pay for her, as they shouldn't have to. They didn't go looking for her, they were simply good Boxer lovers willing to take her in and love her. I admire people like that. Please, rather than attack members willing to help, just thank them for caring for her, and move on if it's not what you're looking for. There's no need for anyone to get ugly about it.
