Default issue with paws

We just got a boxer puppy and she was not taken cared for. She is 8 months and weights 35 lbs, small. The doctor is not worried to much about that because he knows we take care of our pets. The problem is her paws. They are flat and out. The doctor is worried about that. Any ideas. Could use advice. I am not not great with computers so I will have my husband post pics tomorrow. Thanks

Would need to see pictures to see what you are describing. Thank you for taking in this poor girl. It makes me sick to hear and see how others treat their animals.

Welcome and congrats on the new boxer. She's a doll! I'm sure the more experienced members/experts will have some ideas. Good luck and give her a hug for me!

Maybe she had a deficiency of something? Or a deformity? It looks like something is weak or deformed in the ankle area. Some dogs go down on the pasterns when they're teething and growing, but her's seems to be more extreme. And she rolls onto the front. It almost looks like when a horse founders. Did you do an x-ray? It could be an untreated broken bone that healed wrong maybe?

It is possible she was kept in a kennel with a wire floor. The vet needs to xray them. Good for you for taking her in - she deserves a loving home!

It makes me sad to see her so skinny. Good for you for taking her in!

Welcome and thank you for rescuing this beautiful girl! it is heartreaking that people treat their pets that way. I too thought her paws looked flat but don't know why; not enought exercise, too much time on a flat surface? I am sure other members will chime in

I'm sorry I don't really have any input on the issue either. But thank you for rescuing her! I'm sure you can work through whatever it is and she will have a much happier and healthier life with you!
