Default Hip Pain treatement

Hey folks, I hope you and your pups are doing well. My boxer Zoey is 9 and shes been great all these years with minimal issues. Lately she has been stalling to jump on the bed with us and gets our help, sometimes shes just like before and jumps right on. Also we have noticed her get up and move as if her legs fell asleep, I am thinking there is pain involved. Other than this, she still runs/sprints in the backyard and is active.

My question is, what can I start giving her to help her as she ages? To support joint and future issues that come with age. She eats Earhborn, Costal Catch and nothing else for the last 8 years or more. What herbs, veggies, or supplements could you recommend (like collagen for humans with join dry/issues).

Thank You

Hi there, our girl Angel has terrible arthritis in her knees -likely from an old injury. We have tried everything we could think of (she was non weight bearing for months and the muscle atrophied AND I had 2 puppies on the way!! The best long term supplement I've found is Cosequin. Available on line or in pet stores. Start with 2 tabs/day and after a few weeks can decrease to 1 tab. The effects take a couple weeks but now if we run out she is lame again within a couple days so I know it helps. Also try warm packs, massages, range of motion when you have time. We also did accupuncture, cold laser treatments, chinese herbal etc. In our case the best relief was Cosequin and warm packs. If her problem is specifically on /off the bed you could try dog stairs?

Hi there, sorry I never replied I did however take your experience as advance and I gave her Cosequin. The hip issues went away and I have actually stopped giving her the med. She no longer has problems with getting up, it must have been a sprain she got somehow. Shes going on 10 years and still healthy and fast when she runs.
