Default penis wont retract

My friend has a dog that is almost a year and unaltered. She has never had a problem but today he was licking himself and she said that it hasnt gone back inside for about an hour. Is this normal? I told her I didnt think it was soon enough to panick but how long is this normal? Ive never had this problem with any of my pets before. Any advice would be welcome im sure as she is extremely uncomfortable and worried.

This use to happen to my first boxer. My mother had to use vaseline and put it "back in" for him. But, he was much older when this happened (? 9-10 y/o).

Yeah you have to get it back in quickly caus otherwise it swells. . .that happened to MAc and he ended up at the vet, had his willie put on ice to reduce the swelling and then gel to get back in. . .Boys.. .but i do believe it can be serious if left

Didn't this happen during an episode of the Real World? LOL.

I think they put salt on it, might want to google it first.

I had a friend whose pups had this issue (I posted on it awhile back) it was umm hanging out for about a day or 2 and then it just righted itself...it did it again about 2 months later but within a day was right. The vet said it could be bc there was a female in heat in the area and he was umm for lack of terms a little excited about it???
