Even though it did bring up some bad memories, I am really happy for you and Mo, even though he's banged up. I lived on a busy street corner, and all it took was a matter of a few seconds for Stifler to get out the front door and he was gone. The driver did stop and helped me. A few weeks later I saw the driver, and he came up to me to apologize once again. We both were crying. I did put a 5' high fence around my front yard, and I upped my 4' high fence to 6' in the back, plus I put gate locks on all the gates. I know I went over and beyond here on preventative measures, but when this happens, you want to do everything in your power to insure it doesn't happen again. A few years before, my toy poodle was hit by a car, and lived. She healed great, but when she's all hyper, running around, she'll stop dead in her tracks, fall over, with her body completely stiffened up. It only lasts a short while, but it is kinda scarey.

I'm SOOOO happy that Mo pulled thru, that boy is a survivor >< ><
It does forever change how you'll feel about your babies being outside.....even with a fenced yard mine are never left alone, I"m either with them or watching out the window. Healing energy coming for Mo, and angel kisses from our sweet Comet

Bad memories here as well. We lost our first boxer, Tyson when I was six months pregnant with our son. I came home to an open back door (he had learned how to jump up and turn the knob), I called him, heard his tags jingle and saw him across the road. He tried to cross and was hit head on by a pickup. Hardest thing I ever did, calling my boyfriend at work and telling him Ty was gone. That is one of the main reasons why, even though we live on a back country road now, Leila is NEVER allowed out off leash.
