Default Huge lump on puppy's head

Hi Guys,
My name is Kirsten & i have a 5 month old male puppy named Snotty, about 3 weeks ago i noticed a lump on the back of his head at first it felt sqishy but turned hard after about 2 days. The day i first noticed the lump i took him to the vet & the vet said that it was a hematoma & not to worry to much because his body would absorb it, well it didnt.. it got bigger (about the size of a golf ball) went back to the vet & they still said not to worry, a week later he developed another one on the front of his head this one was alot bigger it covered the whole front of his head. I immediately took him back, they drained a small amount of blood it hardly made a difference so i took him to another vet who operated on him the next day, took all of the tissue out and put a drain in, the vet said that it was a seroma & that they had never seen anything like it before. about 3 days later the back one filled back up and the one at the front did a little bit to so we took him back had them re drained, the front one stayed down but the back one came back up again, now the vet is saying that the lump will never go down & that it is his scull i just dont believe him at all because ive seen it back to normal when they operated on it. I just dont know what else to do. has anyone else had a problem like this before and if so what was the outcome? should i ask for an xray? sorry for the huge post & thanks in advance for any help. xo

Did this ever get sorted out? I’ve got the same issue... HUGE golf ball size on top of my 4 month old puppy. They drained it yesterday but it filled back up and seems to be getting harder. Going back to the vet today... wondering what to expect. Thanks!

Ouch poor puppies! We had a nickel sized hairless lump surface on Rocket. The doc took a biopsy. Turns out it was a histiocytoma (common allergic reaction which goes away usually 1-3 months).

I would get a second opinion, before you sign up for any procedures from diagnosis on the first visit. Sorry I donít have much else. Good luck

That looks pretty awful I am used to the puppies having "points" on the top of their heads before their head spreads out but I have never seen a fluid type mass that is very strange did they ever say what was causing it? Doe he hit his head like on a crate or doggie door repeatedly or any kind of trauma? Just wondering my dog got the histiocytoma thing which was no big deal hers did go away but never had the fluid filled lump. Did you get any vaccine lately like a Lepto vaccine can cause swelling and a reaction in boxers as well as allergens like molds and stuff just throwing some things out there I have seen!
