We have a vet appointment today. going to find out how much he weighs and if all is in order (shh! don't tell rocco he's getting his shots today!)
So D is nearly 6 months old and has caught on to his training already!? wow, smart pup. Rocco was around 9 months before he started to listen and he STILL has accidents from time to time (rarely but sometimes still). i'm tellin' ya, he's cute but he's a late bloomer. the other day, i attempted to leave him home alone for an hour out of his crate - an experiment that has gone well in the past up to a max of half hour only though. he did a nervous pee in the house. i know it was a nervous pee because he ran from the front door to the back of the house peeing a line the whole way... working on the independence/anxiety factor still.
Hey- thanks for the message. Rocco is about 14 months old now. He's always been a bit of a late bloomer, he still has a puppy face and a bit of an egghead! lol I'm hoping he'll fill in soon! He's doing well. How are D and D, the tagg team boxers buds doing?
No problem Yes he has some big genes I guess. He didn't stop growing until he was almost exactly 18 months old either so I would say you have a little time before your guy is done growing and you are going to end up with a big ole guy too lol.
I think he weighed around 70 pounds. I would have to look it up somewhere but he has always been a big strong boy. His dad weighs 110 and grandpa weighed 125. I didn't know all of that when I fell in love with the little guy as an infant His mom is rather big too, I think like 80lbs and they called and said they had another litter and it would be her last. I don't think they are what others on here would consider reputable breeders though. But I didn't know all I know about Boxers before I joined this fourm. lol
No, just the one job. I am a Residential Counsellor. I work at a treatment centre for First Nations youth, ages 12 to 17. I am so lucky to get paid to do what I do. I was asked to fill in for one of the Clinician's who are doing on holidays - yeaahoo! They do all the case management, they do all the assessments, formal counselling, etc. So, that's what I will be doing for the next few months then back to being a Residential Counsellor!
Xavier is incredible. He was very abused when we got him, so he is very protective. We've been working really hard with him on his socialization and I can't believe his transformation! I'm so proud of him.
Hoooly, just writes lots - so much I had to break it into two posts. Well, that just goes to show I can't leave talking to you for more then a few days I guess! hehe!
Yes, I do have facebook!! Katie Racine. My profile pictures is (of course) of Lexi! What is your info, so I can try to find you??
I've missed you too! I took a new (temporary, just a fill in) position for work, so it's taking me a bit to get into the swing of things. Plus with not getting that brindle female I was just so discouraged I fell off the face of the earth (so to speak, hehe) for a few days.
Glad to hear that your babies are doing well!! Keep me posted how the 'off' training goes. When Lexi gets excited she throws her paws around and can really scratch people, so we are working on her 'boxing' skills . I think I'm crazy though .. I has a work party last week at a friends cabin. Anyways, I came home from work to pack my bags and of course was greeted by Lexi with her wiggle butt, kidney bean, boxing frenzy self, and I just couldn't leave her at home. So, I took her to the party with me. Everyone loved her, no on minded but I just COULDN'T leave her .. What is wrong with me!! hehehe .. crazy boxer owners!
