Tried posting to you yesterday. I'm new at this and learning how things work. Our Ali' was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy at the age of nine. Twice he had the holter monitor. He was on Sotalol and Enalapril. His Cardiologist also prescribed a special cardiac dog food made by Royal Canine. We watched him closely so he didn't get over excited. Probably more for my nerves from worrying. He had a total of five collapses in the three years we had left after his diagnosis. Ultimately we don't think it was the heart in the end. He was having trouble standing and his legs started to go out from under him. The emergency vet said further testing would require sedation and he was high risk for that. We lost him at the age of twelve, making the heartbreaking decision to put him down. We were told we were lucky to have had him that long. But it was still such a loss and our hearts still ache. Good luck! Love your baby!
