Default Goodbye to my best Bud

Radar went to Heaven on Friday, March 31. He was 10 years and 9 months old. I had to put him down because he was having seizures. The seizures were caused by cancer or a tumor(don't remember this part too well, I was mess listening to the vet). The cancer was around his spleen and the cancer was around his liver. The vet saw this while doing a ultrasound. He was laboring to breath also.

I basically carried him from the exam room to the quiet room, where we had our last hour together.

I didn't think I would have to make this decision of putting him down, but it was for the best. My heart breaks when I know he was probably having these seizures for last two weeks, I just never saw him have one. I thought he just wasn't feeling good. He would have his good days and bad days, but he never did really want to play during those last two weeks. And I had a bad feeling ever since he started acting like he was in those last two weeks.

I just can't believe he went so fast. One day he was playing hide and go seek with me and my little boy and the next day he was not acting right.

Radar has been with me through a lot. He has been there for my first marriage, my first divorce, my second marriage, my first kid, my second kid, he was my best bud, always faith full, always happy to see me.

I was there with him, until he took his final breath when the vet him down.

I did not know letting him go would be so hard on me, but I know he is pain free now and having fun up in heaven.

RIP Radar.

So sorry for your loss. Been there many times. You never get over it but rather learn to live with it. It gets somewhat easier over time. Remember all the good times and the quality life you gave your best Bud.

So sorry for your loss. They're so much a part of our family. I'm sure you have so many good memories with him.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.
I understand your pain, my Mongo passed on March 30th. He too had been having seizures since last September due to a brain tumor. With all the treatments and specialists- in the end the tumor wins.
May your pain and grief lessen over time and your memories fill your heart with joy. I know it's going to take a long time... <<Hugs>>

I am so sorry to hear about Radar. Our buddies really are closer to us than most family so the loss is very deep. Hang in there and come here when you need a shoulder to cry on. We understand.

Rest easy Radar. Tell Mongo we say "hi."

Thanks everyone. I know he is no pain now, but I wish I could have known it was worse than even what the vet was guessing what it was. Who knows how long he had this cancer, that is the part that makes me wonder what could have been. I wish there was a test for the internal organs on dogs, so the vets know what is going on.
