Default homeade cooking to save money

Hi there I have an 9 month old boxer who does have allergies and a sensitive stomach.
I am feeding him Natural Balance salmon which he is doing well on but it is very expensive..
Is there a safe way of giving him home cooked with the kibble to stretch it out and not risk him having any problems..He really doesn't enjoy the kibble..I am wondering If I could give him some oatmeal mixed with other balanced ingred. without him having more allergies.
If I do cook for him how do I know he is getting what he needs? and what would be safe non allergy foods to give him..My pug is also on a fish food for allergies so it would be nice to get them eating the same food..thank-you.

Do you know what he is allergic from? Homecooking can be fine but you have to make sure you are giving him the right amounts of protein, minerals and other vitamins he needs.
