A dog left when owners moved was being fed by neighbor but she had 3 of her own and cats and is low income so the scraps were not enough as she grew these last weeks.'She is either a badly bred boxer or a Boxer mixed in Pit which is a popular cross-in with ckc pits in this region. Region is also exploding with byb past few years (NC). So we got her today. She is thin but not lost her health yet,. Undocked and uncropped .Her tail is crazy, definitely the boxer part.
Ive had a pitty boxer before (killed by a loose full pit that attacked my son in our yard. She was too young and lite weight but she tore through her kennel fence to get to them. I was mowing lawn on a 5 acre and mom was in house getting drinks :-< PITA was a good girl), but her whole litter was heavier dogs with bigger heads and bigger ears and standard tails.
She is a sweet and gentile with a firm grasp "i am a dog and I like that". Not fearful or food rude. A little barky at other dogs. Velcro with my son already. She is maybe 4 months old.
So if we keep her now what? I am training her to be a good citizen regardless of her eventual owner.
