I took our Giant schnauzer to get groomed yesterday and noticed that she ahd flakes all over. She has always been flakey but its getting worse. She eats ChickenSoup dog food. Which is better, Fish oil capsules or liquid? What kind of fish oil should I use? How many eggs a day/weekly can I give her?
Gisselles coat is great its just The schnauzers.

Hannabanana (Heather) recommended an oil and I have to say the results are amazing! Sam and Lucy's coats look awesome in just 2 weeks time. It is from Sea Pet - It is the Omega 3 with Vitamins AD&E. Here is the link:

On the recommendation of Hanna as well I picked up some Salmon Oil at my local pet store, it recommends 1tsp per day and beware it has to be refridgerated after opening (I missed that). If you can find some on the Tiberwolf website that's great too.

Good luck and the results are fast.

I give mine each one tablet of Salmon oil, 1000mg plus they get one raw egg a week. I have really noticed a difference in Samson's coat, which is coarse, now it is soo much softer than before

i have been feeding the sardines and Maverick has a nice shiny coat. I have also started brushing more frequently and it really helps. I am also starting to use fish oils in kibble. I gave raw egg once and his poop smelled the next day horrible so i havent tried again but he was young then so i think i shall give it another go...didnt know you could leave the shells in..good to know. Did the vet say anything about the schnauzer's flakes?

I have 3 mini-schnauzers  and they eat either Taste of The Wild Salmon or Purina One Sensitive Salmon and notice that their coats are much softer and silkier on the fish than when they eat chicken or beef.   They also used to eat Welness Fish and Potato and that did well too.

I give Lulu (boxer) an egg a week.

I usually split 1 egg between the 3 schnauzers each week.

The only thing the vet said was to make sure i get all the soap off her when i bath her but I rarely bath her myself she usually goes to the groomer, and I have specified a gentle shampoo for her and they condition her also.
Thanks everyone for the advice and suggestions. I will try the salmon oil and egg first then if that doesnt work i will switch to  flint river ranch fish and chips,we feed that to our pit bull.
