If you had to pick a dog other than a boxer or a second dog other than another boxer what would you pick? I'd have to say either a Rottweiler or an American Bulldog. If I had to go small a Boston Terrier. But after living with Tito I don't think I'd ever not have atleast one boxer.

We also have a black lab, Chipper, whom we love DEARLY.  However, we won't have another one after him, due to the copious amount of hair he sheds YEAR ROUND!  We've also had an Irish Setter, Kelly, before, and we loved her, too.  Setters are a little "scattered", but they're sweet.

German Shepherds! Very loyal dogs, and I love training them. My last one, Lakota just passed away 2 months ago. :( She was only 4. She got into anti freeze that was in the ditch water that runs through our property. They sprayed it on our roads to stop the roads from being corrupted from the frost (harsh winters)...of course, it drains into the ditches. A bunch of dogs died from it in our area... Its a very sad situation...I hope they stop doing that to these back country roads. I now know better, my dogs are not allowed by the creeks or ditches anymore!

My new puppy is my first Boxer, but I have always wanted one and they are my favourite breed!

Sorry to hear what happened to Lakota. Whose "they" the city or township? Was any action taken against them? I asked my dad this question yesterday and he also said German Shepherds because they're loyal and listen more. I said Tito's loyal too but he just has his dominance issues when he gets rough and rowdy. He's still a puppy and I'm getting him neutered on the 28th so hopefully that will help. Once again sorry about Lakota it really sucks to lose them like that.

Akita's are next on my list.  Had a Sheppard before Chief... and we had an Akita before that. - A guy in one of the doggy parks we frequent has an 8 month old male... and I just stare and pet it.. lol...

BUT!! - Since Chief... Boxers are my fav. everything about them... To me they are the best of all worlds. :D

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. What a sad, senseless situation.

I have a list! English Bulldog, Golden Doodle, Golden Retriever, Chocolate Lab, Chow Chow. I prefer sturdy dogs.

I am assuming it was the township. The only action taken was that we reported what had happened, as well as multiple other familes and there dogs, and there was a large write up about it in the paper, and I believe it was to be discussed at the town meeting and changes to be made. I guess they thought they could save money by not having to repair the streets every year after the harsh winters, but it brought up many other issues. It definately isn't too environmentally healthy. I will make sure they will NOT be using it anymore.
