For the last week Tucker has become sensitive on his rear but it seems to me that it is a good bit lower than anal glands. I always finish cleaning his feet by wiping his rear splash zone but now it causes him to drop to a sitting position much like I do when I get a pinched nerve in my hip.

This picture was taken for fun about 5 years ago and the area looks the same now as in the pic. It's kind of a raised fuzzy area I think just due to the way the fur grows.

Is this still an anal gland area? Maybe a thorn or sticker of some sort?

It only bothers him when I touch the area at the point of the red arrow.

Thanks Kari, after 3 weeks he seemed to be getting better last night. I may never know what was wrong. I'm glad to know it is not anal glands. I was trying to decide if he needed to go to the vet.

I try to avoid the vet beyond the yearly shots and blood test. He has never done well there and has earned the rank of muzzle dog. He is kind of weird, he would jump onto the face of a raging water buffalo but is afraid of little things such as the garage door and doesn't like anyone including me messing around his rear.

Thanks again.
