Hi everyone!  I have a gorgeous male boxer with APRI (America's Pet Registry, Inc.) registration (which I heard means nothing).  I did not fix him hoping that one day he could have puppies...however, now I start to doubt if that is possible due to the type of registration he has. Has anyone heard anything about this APRI stuff?

Thanx  .....best regards :)

I've never heard of that type of registration, before you breed you check out some of the posts on breeding there is a lot more that goes into ethical breeding than registration alone.

APRI is just that a registry....Before even considering breeding, I would suggest as was previously stated, read thru the Sticky topics in this section..Also think to yourself, "what makes my Boxer so special that he would make a good stud?" The general way of proving that is in the show ring. Has his parents, grandparents been shown? Get a mentor to advise you whether your Boxer would be a good stud. Attend shows, talk to owners...THEN if you get good feedback, do your health testing(and that doesn't mean a trip to the vet for a checkup).Again refer to the articles here in the breeding section for a lot of good advice

Thanx for you replies, guys :)  I am really considering to fix Kagor...I don't see a way of easily finding him a girl....so I guess he will be left out of some goood stuff... :(  Anyways, I am planning on getting it done ASAP, cause he's already 9 months....pooor boy :(

Best Regards from Marina & Kagor :)
