Does anyone think that putting tablets or rocks in dog's food/water supply bad for them at all?

I have been using dog rocks in the water for 2 years and not sure that it works, I was thinking of trying this tablet form supplement but worried that it may cause harm - does anyone share my concerns?

My Boxer is on a 80/20 protein/veg kibble but I don't want to change that.

Product Description

We know you love your pet but chances are you don't love what they do to your lawn. Having a pet doesn’t mean settling for a patchy lawn. Green-UM lawn burn solution can help your lawn and your dog exist in harmony.
VetIQ Green-UM lawn burn solution tablets contains active ingredients which are especially formulated to control nitrogen waste products in your dog’s urine and helps prevent unsightly yellow spots appearing on your lawn. This effective supplement also contains the plant extract Yucca schidigera which helps bind nitrogen in the dog’s urine. It also contains essential B vitamins and amino acids. The product performs best when administered in conjunction with a protein controlled diet. Used and trusted for over 15 years.
Lawn burn from dog urine can quickly ruin a green lawn, as urine is very high in nitrogen. When your dog urinates, it is similar to pouring a nitrogen-containing fertilizer onto the lawn. A little nitrogen is good for the grass, but an excess cause’s damage – Lawn Burn. The prevention of lawn burn involves trying to reduce the amount of nitrogen coming into contact with the grass. The only way to reduce the nitrogen content of the urine is to treat the pet, rather than treat the grass. If you do so, the lawn quickly repairs and the patches grow out within a matter of weeks.
This tried & tested supplement contains a unique combination of active ingredients, specially formulated to control the nitrogen waste products in your dog’s urine. Green-UM contains the plant extract Yucca Schidigera which helps bind the nitrogen in the urine, so less is excreted onto the grass, therefore preventing lawn burn appearing. A dog's normal pH is around 6.5. Most dogs whose urine burns the lawn is above pH 6.5 which means it is too alkaline. By feeding Green-UM to your dog, the urinary pH will come down to the normal level of pH 6.5 and this helps to eliminate the lawn burn.

I'm curious about this too. I've lost most of my lawn. Biggest problem is when he goes its always 1 time and in one spot so I guess it is strong enough that eventually it kills the grass.

I have heard that the tablets can cause problems with some dogs, kidneys. I don't think I would risk that. The rocks, I have no idea bout these. I have purchased a organic drench safe for pets and dogs, I didn't see much results with this, and very $$$.I just water my lawn in good in the summer, use dish soap, beer, mouthwash dreach once a mo. as fertilizer. I don't see a lot of brown unless my lawn gets too dry. I keep every thing natural no chemicals where my dogs roam. Callie actual dose more damage with her racing around my yard, or digging after a mole.
