I dont think feeding dogs a vegetarian diet is healthy at all. Any diet that is high in lentils and peas or any legume can cause food induced DCM, grain free dog food killed my dogs and those foods rely on legumes to boost the protein value. Dogs are meat eaters it’s that simple and efforts to change who and what they are could have fatal results. Dogs are not made like people

I am guessing you may be from India based on the flag icon, Most dogs in the US are considered carnivores however I have read that in reality they are omnivores much like wolves, who eat both meat and plants, and can survive on a vegetarian diet. This is a relatively new concept for me and one I do not and likely would not follow. But one must do what they must. I have further read that most of the protein a dog will get on a vegetarian diet is thru legumes, peas, lentils, chickpeas and the like along with eggs, potatoes, grains like barley wheat and supplements and omega 3 & 6.
It has been found that dogs eating grain free, with their protein coming mainly from legumes are often affected with DCM, an often fatal heart disease. I am by no means an expert and can only write about what I have read so you will need to do your own investigations. Not being familiar with a vegetarian diet for dogs I honestly cannot recommend foods. There seems to be much information on the internet and I would do local searches.

Yes, I am from India and I am vegetarian... I served eggs to my dog only and yes I know dogs are carnivorous animals, which means that they are designed to eat a diet that is primarily made up of meat. While it is possible for dogs to consume some plant-based foods, they should not be fed a strictly vegetarian diet. This is because a vegetarian diet may not provide all of the essential nutrients that dogs need to maintain good health. I also read one post on the DTUA site. it is possible to include small amounts of plant-based foods in a dog's diet as long as they are properly balanced with the necessary nutrients. For example, dogs can safely eat certain vegetables like carrots, green beans, and peas as long as they are cooked and served in moderation. However, it is important to avoid feeding your dog foods that are toxic to dogs, such as onions, garlic, and grapes.

If you are considering a vegetarian diet for your dog, it is important to consult with a veterinarian or a canine nutritionist to ensure that your dog's dietary needs are being met. It may also be necessary to use supplements to provide your dog with the nutrients they need.
