My 15 week old flashy brindle is pure-bred with AKC registration.  We never really intended on showing her, but her form "looks" good to us - now DH and I have NO idea what is "good form" - she just stands really nice.  Since we originally purchased her as a pet - I know she comes from "show dogs" as the breeder shows them and only does a litter every couple of years - but I wanted "pet quality" with health tested parents.  I have searched the Internet for "faults" that would totally keep us from showing her - my understanding is that if more than 1/3 of their body is white then they are disqualified also if they have any white on their backs it is lower points???

Where can I go to get more information - we haven't decided we want to show yet - just want more information.  Thanks!

Hi there,
The World Wide Boxers site that Penne posted is an excellent resource and a great place to get started. I also wanted to post links to our breed standard, as well as the illustrated standard (which I've found to be much more helpful than the regular printed standard, as I'm a very visual learner ;) ).

Also, I highly recommend contacting your local boxer club and planning on attending a few meetings to get to know other exhibitors and breeders in your area. Shows are also a great way to meet people. Both of the above are also a great way to find a mentor in the breed, which is absolutely invaluable.

Show schedules for your area can be found on: http://www.infodog.com

(Go to "Show Information", "Search by State", etc. . .)

Good luck! :)
