 Hi everyone,

Last night we noticed a bubble like lump appear(out of nowhere) on our Gigi's front left shoulder.  It is soft and seems fluid filled,  looks like the bubble critters get after a vaccine.

This bubble lump just appeared, no warning at all.  It's about the radius of half dollar, maybe a little bigger.  It's relatively flat, like a thick pancake almost.  I'm not terribly concerned, but figured I'd post and see if anyone's seen this type of thing before.

Gigi is a 6.5 month old fawn female.  So she's very young,  if she was an older dog bumps and lumps wouldn't concern me as much.  As they are more common in aging dogs.  She's very lively and 100% her crazy, hyper self!  The bubble lump does not appear to phase her at all, not even when touched or lightly pressed on.  I have two little kids that have been climbing all over her since it's appeared and she's showed absolutely no sign that it is bothering her.

I've made her a vet appointment to have it checked, but wanted to see what you all thought!

Thanks.
Jen and Gigi

Re: Bubble like lump on front leg. Any help or suggestions!

With boxers and bumps get EVERYTHING checked.   Sometimes things like a reaction to a shot, hystocoma (sp?), or something that require more attention.  However as it may be nothing, better to ease your mind just incase it could be something.

Welcome to the forum, please post and intro and some info on your pup - oh, and we LOVE pictures!!!

Howdy from Texas and welcome to the forums! :D

Don't know where you are, but it's really warming up here south of Houston!  Sounds like a bug bite of some sort.  Maybe even a spider bite.
Good luck and keep us posted! :D

I agree, it is better to have a vet check it out so if it is something to be concerned (which hopefully it isn't) then it was caught early.

Welcome to the forum, yes we do love pictures here.

Hello and welcome!!!!!!!.....I tend to agree with this because being fluid filled it is more of a cystic lump.....should be filled with clear fluid and it should also go down on its on....if not them it would need to be drained....

The other great advice is to always have lumps and bumps on a boxer checked :)  So, if you dont see improvment or it gets larger I would have it seen!

Oh boy, you really do have to watch these kiddos! They get into anything and everything! You got some great advice, but the best was, when in doubt with ANY lump or bump, see your vet..Boxers are prone to Hystio and generally they are benign, but better to be safe.....

Sounds like a bite of some sort, I would keep a close eye...

Barker last saturday morning got stung by a bee on her lip!  She was chasing it around and decided she wanted to see how tasty it was.  Needless to say, she didn't care to much for it after the sting.

Did not know that. Learn something everyday! I was wondering why you all kept saying always "on a Boxer" get a lump or a bump checked out.

Re: Bubble like lump on front leg. Any help or suggestions!

Thanks for all the great advice guys.  Gigi's appointment is at 3:30 today. It's only like an hour away, but I'm antsy to get her in and have it checked.  She's still completely fine and unbothered by it though!  Cross you all's fingers that it is nothing, she's still a baby and we are by no means a wealthy family.  Good thing I went ahead and got Pet Insurance.

At least I did enough research prior to bringing her home to know that Boxer's aren't the most healthy breed and got the insurance for her, definitely the most loving though.  Wish us luck I've got to get ready to go to her appointment now.  I'll post again once we are settled back at home.
