Hi!! I am in search of a new vet.  I took Oakley in a couple of weeks ago for his regular checkup and shots, and they have a new vet now. Oakley was not impressed.  At all.  And frankly, I wasn't either.  So, I'm looking for a new vet.  Do you go to a good one?  I've heard some really, really good things about Pam Truman at Metcalf South Animal Hospital at 105th &  Metcalf in Overland Park, but that's a good 20 minutes from my house.  If you know of any good ones, will you let me know?

So what's 20 minutes from your house?  It takes me that long to just get down the mountain I live on and then I still have to go another 5 miles to the vet's.  It's worth the distance and it's your baby and you have someone highly recommended.  I say go for the lady Pam Truman.

If you have any boxer clubs nearby they can give you a recommendation too.

I'm with Nano on this..I live somewhat out of town and it takes me a good 20 minutes to get anywhere..Within reason, I will travel out of my way if it's something that will benefit my babies

I agree, I have about 50 vets all w/ in a 0-10 mile radius (one right down my block) but i'll drive to the other end of the island just b/c i love and trust our vet's office so much.

I am not there so I dont really "know" any of them....But...referrals are the best source of advice....I have always said a happy client will tell a few and an unhappy one will tell everybody!!!    I drive more then 20 minutes to get to work and I have people who come to us who drive more then 20 miles....So, I would say it is worth checking out....

I also met a Doctor in a conference that I think was from your town, but I can not think of the clinic name he is at....His name was Dr. Greg Starr, I was impressed by him.....Maybe google him or look him up in the phone book....He may be further away then you are...

I take my boys to Eudora Animal Hospital, it's 30 minutes from Overland Park though.  I grew up there and it's really reasonably priced.  A lot of people from Lawrence bring there dogs into Eudora becuase the vets are so amazing and friendly.
