Hey Everybody!
Hope all of you fellow Boxer lovers are doing good, We just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New year.
We are grateful for lots of things but mostly the fact that Charlie is still healthy and still with us to see her 2nd Christmas. She was born with a badly deformed right kidney and what we think is ectopic ureters. The breeder was very supportive at first but has since vanished off the face of the earth, her website is gone and I think she moved to Michigan. (hopefully not restarting breeding ever again). I gave her the benefit of the doubt for a long time, but from what I have read on facebook, she has ripped off lots of people, sold stolen pups and provided falsified health testing paperwork. . Beware if you ever run across Erntestine Allan. We thought we did all the homework and spent a ton of money trying to find a healthy pup. When she asked my son which puppy he wanted, all he said was that I want a healthy one.... How can you look a child in the eye and make promises you can't keep? In my opinion there is special place reserved for her, hope she enjoys it. (well it feels good to get that off my chest) sorry
We had a "specialist" in Portland who suggested we euthanize her a year and a half ago, or do his $12k radical "first" surgery. I am SO THANKFUL for the love and support from Moderator Kari and luvmiboxers who responds to every question on this forum and regularly checks in with me to see if things are OK. I don't know where we would be without good people like you. We haven't done any surgery except for fix her recessed vulva and she just had complete bloodwork done and is doing just fine in every aspect!
It's a blessing and a curse to know that she is a ticking time bomb, but I cherish every day that I have with her. She is spoiled beyond belief but she is still living her best life. I just hope and pray for a few more Christmas's.
So everyone, give your Boxer pal a huge hug every day and let them lick your face, take every chance to go for a walk, because you never know how many days you have.
Best wishes to everyone!
Rick
