Help!
Zoe is constantly chewing at her feet!!  Whenever she is not playing or sleeping, she seems OBSESSED with cleaning/chewing at her paws, ALL of them, not a specific one.

My roommate thinks it's from boredom, I think she might have something similar to a boxer version of athlete's foot but upon inspection her feet LOOK clean, but could it be health related?? If boredom, how do I solve? We ARE in a cold, dry climate, do I need to moisturize her feet?

She just keeps gnawing and chewing at them!

Thanks as always for any tips!

food alergies, yeast, stress all examples.    Add some Omega 3&6 fish oils to her diet.   Also if its really bad, then may be time to switch foods.  What are you feeding now?   Any snow, road salt??     Do they smell foul?

chewing of the paw/nails can be a bacterial issue.  That is what the vet said to me about Attila, but he has these wipes we use on 3 of the 4 paws every night.  Supposedly it says it kills it after the first use but vet said its okay to do it every night.

Take some monistat 7 (yes the female yeast infection cream) and use it inbetween the toes.  It will kill the yeast.  if the itching persists.  Soak feet in a tub using selson blue shampoo- the medicated kind.

KY - if she is licking her feet and itching her ears and they smell yeasty  - she could be transfering the yeast from her foot to ears when she scratches.

ya Heather thats what i was thinking too...i use ketoconisole cream on her feet and have to almost sit ON her to get her to NOT lick it off...haha even put sox on her lmao she gets REALLY MAD AT ME..its kinda funny

although i never see her scratch her ears at all...maybe licking the paws tranfers it to the mouth...and just spreads...

My 9 year old boxer...Brittany chews her feet at different times of the year.
The Vet said she has seasonal allergies. So when she starts chewing we give her a benedryl tablet twice a day and it really helps.
