I have had Chief for a few weeks now, and he is really doing great!  When I first got him he was skinny, smelly and wouldn't walk on the leash or go up/down the stairs to my duplex.  He is doing really great now, and is turning into such a good dog!  He is an angel on the leash now, runs up and down the stairs, hops in and out of the car.  We have brought him to Petsmart a few times, everyone loves him there and comments on how well behaved he is.  He knows "Sit" and "Come" so far, we are working on the rest.  He has the cutest "happy dance" he does whenever we come home, and when he get's excited can jump WAY high.  8O  We bought a tall gate to keep him in the kitchen when we aren't home, but he hops over it no problem, lol.  Mostly he is a pretty sleepy, relaxed dog.

I am totally in love with him, and the boxer breed.  The best thing is so is my BF, and he's never had a dog in his life, so he was very unsure about it.  Now he wants another one!  :D

Very few people guess he is a boxer though, they usually say pitbull or american bulldog.

Oh, and Chief says the best thing I've learned from the boxer forums is to stuff his Kong with mashed banana/peanut butter.  He goes crazy for it!

I tried uploading some pictures here, but it wouldn't work, so click on this link his picture gallery: http://www.imagecoast.com/gallery.php?u ... t-Dog-Ever

He is looking great now. Love the cute smiley pic you called "hi." He's quite a handsome fellow.
What did you do to get him going up/down stairs. Max is a rescue and he didn't have a clue about stairs either. I've getting behind him and pushing him up one step at a time. I have to move each paw. He stops cold at the foot of the stairs. Just puts on the brakes. Our bedrooms are upstairs so I don't want him left downstairs alone at night. In the morning, it's easier. I have to start him down but then he'll crouch low and do sort of a low crawl to the bottom. So if you have a suggestion about what might work, I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks.

Sounds like Chief has made some great progress....That is awesome, and yea, there is nothing like being greeted by the kidney bean, nub going 100 mph...Makes it all worthwhile :) Boxers are so smart and they want so badly to please, which can make training sometimes a joy, but sometimes it's also very frustrating too.....
