I know that there was a post earlier this week about this but I just got an email to further back everything up...... THis email came from my local bully breed rescue!
Here is some of the info there was way to many stories to post about dogs that have been affected but there is a link to I am fixing to look at it.

I too called Nutro and spoke to a rep in consumer services. She said she had not heard of any problems with the food. She is blaming the shipping and storing of the food. She did tell me to send 4 cups in for testing, which I am going to do. I'm heartsick about this.

that is the SAME response i got when i called nutro numerous times...a year ago !! they havent heard of any issues :roll:

but I KNOW my dogs and i KNOW when they are sick and they sure were !!!! and the new ultra nutro was WORSE !!! fed them once...both throwing up..Onyx throwing up BLOOD..was horrible !!!!

Yea, that was pretty much what was being told to the person who posted this on my mailing list...Absolutely nothing from the company, which to me, spells guilt..I may be wrong on this, but when the formula was changed, it wasn't stated, so most people were unaware of anything until after purchasing

Interesting, I have Tyson on Nutro right now.  I will be switching immediately.  I was told there was a mix up with shipping, and that is why some products were not availble at this time.  I never knew of something acutally being wrong with the food. Oh my.

Well we are on our 2nd bag since they changed the apperance of the bags, and I checked since it had a new look if it was a new formula and there wasnt anything on the bag.  I just thought it was taking a while for him to get adjusted bc we went from nutro maxx puppy to nutro maxx natural adult.  So I guess I will be bying  a different food now!

I may be wrong on this as well, but I think there was a packaging date that all these cases had in common, let me go back and see if I can find that, but I'm with you, better to be safe

we switched THAT DAY to chicken soup...that was so so scarey !!! seeing Onyx throw up bloody jello looking stuff...was horrible !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i had fed nutro for YRS !!!! in mass i fed to my golden and american bully for like 6 yrs...

they switch to chicken soup was super smooth and easy ..i didnt mix the foods i just switched b/c i was nervous..it went fine

For pups under 2 stick with the salmon aka Pacific Stream

With older dogs then any other forumla is fine.

Its a great grainless kibble, with a great price tag too!

I called my vet and he hasnt heard anything or had complaints from other patients but said to switch just to be safe.

I officially switched Tyson over this weekend.  I went with the Tasts of the Wild Pacific Stream, he loves it and seems to be doing well on it.  I hope this goes well with his sensitive tummy!

I have made the switch offically too!  Duke loves it, really really loves it, He eats his portion then looks at me like can I have some more please!  It seems to be doing great on it not as much gas and his bm's are solid finally!

You might try Royal Canin.  Deuce loves it.  The thing that I really like about it is that when they are older there is a boxer spacific food that they can eat after 15 months since they have sensative stomachs

heather how much do you pay for a 20# bag of taste of the wild?  my guys get canidae still and i know they are getting sick of it.  no more chicken soup for dog lovers avail locally so i'm looking for something to switch up for their 1 kibble meal a day.

I'm really annoyed because my favorite pet store has sold out to Nutro.  They have an entire shelving unit devoted to it and they have a saleslady there everyday trying to get people to switch to Nutro.  If she sees you looking at dog food and she thinks you don't know what you want, she immediately comes up and tries to sell Nutro.  She did this once to me.  I asked her if there was corn, wheat or soy in it because I have boxers and they shouldn't be given those products.  She said oh, ok, and walked away, lol.
