I've been coming back from work during lunch to let Cooper out for a potty break.
He hasn't done anything in the crate since I've had him.
Now here is my question...When can I stop coming home during my lunch time.
At what age?
The longest I've had him in crate without break is 6 hours.
I know about the " # of months + 1 hour" thing, but I don't believe everything on the web since the screaming in the crate problem which said to ignore it. When I chose to correct it, It never happened again so ehat do you think about the day crating time? And it's not every day, it's about max 3 days a week.

In all honesty I never leave my dog crated at any time for more than 4 hours except at night when he sleeps there. He is 3 now. However there is always someone home in my house. I would continue to let hm out at lunch time or at least have someone come in to take him for a walk.

I hate leaving my dogs alone for more than 4 hours myself. Even before I got my puppy a few weeks ago, I still went home for lunch to let my 5 yr old and 3 yr old out. I just feel guilty leaving them at home by themselves all day while I'm at work. Now my husband and I can both go home for lunch so they get let out twice during the day (we take alternate lunches).

I crate trained mine while I was at work. I always came home at lunch to let them out. There were a few times where they had to go a little longer than I'd liked, but sometimes things are beyond our control.
