So we are still fighting the demodex with our 9 month old puppy.  She has gone through 3 dips and it has not worked.  We had to stop doing the dips for a couple months due to my complicated pregnancy and of course the dips are not cheap.

Is there anything else we can do to help the demodex or do we will need to do more dips to see if they help her clear up?

Thanks!!

I did the liquid Ivermectin on my girl Lucy. I have done the dips and I will say that I definitely prefer giving the liquid over doing those darn dips. I think it traumatized Sam - he didn't like water for some time after having to do those dips. Three dips is not a lot. I think we did Sam's for like 4-6 weeks until we got three clean scrapings.

I got it from my vet's office and I just squirted it into her mouth with a syringe everyday. You can also buy it at a local feed store. I think I was giving her 1.0 ml daily but I couldn't swear to the amount. Check with your vet to see if it is an option. The whole vial cost me about $35 and I had plenty to spare after she was finished with her treatment so I donated it to the rescue we got her from.

The ivermectin I use is a paste called Eqvalan.  After months of putting it on my finger and smearing it in Cooper's mouth (which he hated), I finally figured out if you mix it with a spoonful of yogurt, he'll gobble it right up.  The yogurt is pretty much the same consistency so they mix really well.  Been doing the paste for about 4 months now.  If it's not knocked out by the end of the month, I'm probably going to try the mitoban along with the ivermectin.  The paste ivermectin is actually pretty cheap if you get it online.  I know the liquid can be pretty cheap, too.

We used the liquid as well...just make sure you get at least two clean skin scrappings before quitting treatment. We stopped treatment before getting a clean skin scrapping and we had to start over.
