Ok...so I got Bo back from the vet after his neuter, and I was expecting a small little incision on his scrotum...and then there to be flatness...however...looking at his reproductive area, the incision goes a good inch up his penis...why would they have cut into his penis and not just the scrotum?  Is there something that I should watch for as this seems more invasive than most other neuterings I have heard about?

yeah, that's about what i was expecting...with Bo it's not even touching his scrotum...just bruising there, but there is an incision beyond the scrotum on the penis in between the penis and scrotum...it's weird

When I do a neuter the incision is in between the scrotum and the base of the penis. Here is a pic below the flappy skin thing was the scrotum.  I know some vets cut the scrotum itself, so there is more then one way to do it.  It all depends on how the vet was taught and for me I think there is less swelling when the scrotum itself is not cut.
