Just curious here... sometimes Odin gets REALLY worked up and runs around the house or yard like crazy... I've noticed on two seperate occasions, after running full-tilt, he'll slow-down and limps like one leg/hip is broken or severely injured... it worries me really bad, then just when I think my dog is crippled for life, he walks it off as-if nothing at all happened or was wrong... problem solved (if ever there was one).

Has anyone seen/experienced this?

What's up with that?

He's not stepping on anything or falling any distance.  I've noticed it happen twice in about as many weeks... once in the backyard, once in the front yard (ending in the house... front door was open).

Our front and back yard are both flat as a board... no slopes or hills... soft green grass... no thorns or weeds or rocks.  In both cases, he came to a sudden stop, and held up one rear leg as-if it were severely injured/broken and limp a bit... I honestly can't remember if it was the same rear leg on both occasions or opposite legs.  In both cases, I saw him limp from beggining to end... in both cases, the length of the limp only lasted maybe 30 seconds or so... not long at all, but long-enough to go "OMG, what's wrong", then he'd shake it off and walk-off like nothing happened... not sure what to make of it.

As for the Calcium tabs, I'm pretty sure they are NOT to blame... he's been on them a total of 3 or 4 days, and the first instance was before he was taking them.

Maybe it was a charley horse... do dogs get those?
