Maddy is having her teeth cleaned. She has rotten breath and refuses to actually bite/chew anything hard. She nibbles here and there but goes thru phases where she wont chew her food practically! So they are going to check it out while she is under and see whats going on!!!! Its no biggie really, I am just a worrier!!!!
Y'all! I don't know what I'm going to do with that boy!
Doc said the tooth has been broken for more like a month, not just a couple of weeks. But the root canal went well and he has a nice tooth-colored cap, not a silver one!
While Henry was out, doc called and said he found another broken tooth! It was one of his upper jaw teeth, on the same side as the broken canine on the bottom! He said this one looked like it happened within the last few days. So he fixed it too.
AND! Henry has an extra inscisor (sp?) on the top. What a mess!
He's coming around just fine. Just ate a little food. OH! The food has to be soaked till soft for two weeks. No more hard anything, because apparently he breaks teeth! No more nylabone, no more hard plastic toys like frisbees, and no more bully sticks! He gave me a whole list of OK and not OK things to chew/play with.
I just bought those 5 bully sticks from Hanna Banana, anybody want them?
I hear you on the worrying. Ditto for me when one of my babies is put under. Hard to trust the human side of things.
I am glad everything went well for Henry and that they could fix the other teeth at the same time. Wow, what a bill though! Anytime you see a specialist it is a financial hit. Will you have to take on a couple of part-time jobs? I hope not!
Something that Henry might learn to like or like off the bat to chew on would be raw carrots. Get the biggest ones you can find. My dogs liked to chew on them, they are cheap and they are healthy. Probably don't want to give the whole bag at once, but they lend a nice variety to choices. Thanks Zhanna for posting the items.
You should breathe a little easier today knowing that is over with.
