These are some of the things that we should all keep on hand for any emergencies..Also, if, like me you live in the south, it's hurricane season, you should have a bag of things packed and ready to go for your babies..Include their medical records, any identification you have, pictures, vets name & number. Fresh water(bottled) & food is a must also...

Can of soft dog or cat food, as appropriate.
Turkey baster, bulb syringe or large medical syringe.
Saline eye solution to flush out eye contaminants.
Artificial tear gel to lubricate eyes after flushing.
Mild grease-cutting dishwashing liquid for the animal after skin contamination.
Rubber gloves.
Forceps to remove stingers.
Muzzle. An excited animal may harm you.
Pet carrier.
Charcoal capsules - for ingestion of toxins and upset stomach
Steptic powder - for cuts and torn nails to stop bleeding
Liquid bandage
Gauze squares and rolls
Medical tape
Self-stick bandage rolls
Antibiotic ointment
Blanket - to wrap or drag the dog
