Is there such a thing?

Thursday Kaci pooped (diarrhea) and threw up ALL OVER her kennel and then threw up again in the evening then pooped (diarrhea) in our room later that night. By Friday, she was fine. Then, yesterday it was Milo's turn...he pooped (diarrhea) and threw up all over his kennel, but nothing yesterday evening or night. The poor thing, my DH said he was standing there shaking like he'd been standing most of the day b/c his kennel was filled with diarrhea and vomit.

I can't for the life of me think of what they could have gotten into, we haven't changed their food and they don't get treats very often. Everything outside is frozen so I can't see how they would have eaten anything outside to upset their tummies...especially the same thing 4 days apart.

Should I be overly concerned? I thought about taking them to the vet, but I just assumed something upset their tummy and now it's out of their system.

Vomit and Runs are the body's way or getting rid of a toxin.  Its possible that they could have got something off each other, and I do think dogs get colds as well as little bugs.  Best thing to do is monitor, keep them hydrated, and feed a bland diet.  if it persists, then best to take to the vet before any dehydration can set in.

Yes dogs can get the stomach flu and everything you have said is the symptoms of it, they can also react this way if they got into something they should not have, either way it will run course in 24 hours to 3 days.  Keep hydrated and watch for the stool to firm.  Sometimes they will also have an intestional bacteria that goes along with it and that will sometimes need med's to get rid of it.  Metronidazole is the most common used.
