I live in a province where ear cropping is illegal. I am new to showing. How would you think this would effect the outcome? Of course, if it is illegal now we will be seeing more natural dogs but as its a new law I would assume still most dogs will have cropped ears...

There are "Breeders" here and I know some show their dogs?? Sounds like it's gonna be "politics" there for awhile in Boxer land. :)

Natural eared boxers have been accepted in the ring for a long time now.
Can they win?? The cropped Boxers do look "Elegant" but I'm more a fan of "Floppy" it seems to better suit their personality. I do prefer a docked tail but in the long wrong not that important to "me." But if given a choice ... the tail goes. :)

I totally agree I love the floppy :) and for me personally no tail. But I also wonder how A natural ear boxer would hold up against a cropped ear boxer in the show ring? Are the judges bias toward one or the other??

Yes and no...... There are many natural eared boxers with their titles. A well put together dog is a well put together dog and if the judge is doing their job they will place the best dog in the ring regardless of whether the ears are cropped or not.

How about European vs American in the show ring? Still equal?

Absolutely not.

Europeans are still much harder to title but it is doable.

I remember a thread on that awhile ago! The dog that's the closest to it's "type" is "suppose to win??

I couldn't be a "Boxer" judge myself, Goofy long nosed Americans and Short Faced Brutish Euro's?? Everybody is a winner to me!! :clap2:

Pretty sure that would not go over well?? :chair:

When I first moved to England and seen my first Boxer with a tail I was like WTF no way in heck I would have one with a tail. Little did I know a few months later we for one. Then got into showing. We had 2 American Boxers ( one docked and cropped and one just docked) and Eventually had 2 British Boxers. The tails are lethal and I cringe every time they hit something bc they are excited. I do prefer the look of docked and cropped but i like the size and short face of the British.

They are having our regional area dog show right now and I go every year just to see whats going on it show land. I was there yesterday and I didn't see any natural ears on any of the dogs. I did notice they are very small some of the males they were showing were smaller than my female.

I have two with docked tails and our euro puppy still has his tail. I LOVE his tail! I love how it curls up over his back when he's really interested in something and I love being whacked with it when he's happy and excited! He has a tree trunk of a tail so his nub would have been HUGE had it been docked! (I realized this was an old thread)
