Well after batteling pancreatitis for 2 months, Ekim now has bronchitis. He woke up hacking and choking as if he had a fur ball in his throat. We went to the vets and his temp was up, throat red, lymph nodes in his neck were swollen. The whole 9 yards. Funny thing is he has not been around any dogs and he has had the bortadella vaccine. I just hope Miss Delila doesn't get it. Speaking of which she had her staples removed today and is great. I don't think she even realized she had surgery, she didn't sit still for a second. Always something going on with these two.

Ahhhh, hopefully he will get well real soon.  Sending him healing thoughts.
Is he on any kind of immune booster?

Poor Ekim.  Been there, done that with the pancreatitis problems.  Have they run a complete tick borne disease panel?  Our Boxer came up with a E.Canis titer that showed exposure after a high fever and swollen glands.  Two weeks later the repeat test showed it had elevated a little so we treated with Doxy just as a precaution.  There were no other symptoms, and it resolved.  It was a puzzle since we never found a tick on him.  Here's to a speedy recovery.

Wow Luanne, I'm sorry to hear that...Do you give your babies any fish oils? It's good for building up the immune system and maybe Ekim could use that, plus it makes their coats really glossy too...Give that guy a hug for me, will you and hoping that Delila doesn't catch it

Hope he feels better soon, poor guy.  I agree with Willow on the fish oils and the dogs love it.

i'm saying prayers for ekim and your family.  they are beautiful.  he is mighty big, how much does he weigh?  i know we changed to science diet and then back to his other food b/c he was gagging and trying to throw up. we switched back and he hasn't had any problems.  sometimes they do get excited, specially when rudie's friend molly is over then they compete for attention.

poor baby.  breathing problems for a boxer has to be miserable with their short snouts.

i'd check with your vet about the fish oils.  it might be too much just recovering from pancreatitis.

our babies are so fragile.  no wonder we treat them like babies and worry ourselves over them

Thanks for the concern, he seems a little better today but if he starts jumping around and playing he gets a coughing spasm. Ekim is now on Prescribtion Diet Ultra and it is the only food that he hasn't vomited and believe me I tried a ton.( Pinnicle, Wellness, Canadae, Purina sensitve stomach and a few more I can't even remember). I am not a fan of hills but I had to go with what worked with him. He was 95 lbs and he is now down to 84.4 lbs. Thanks to cutting out table food  ( bad hubby ), reducing amt of food and Miss Delila keeping him active. He was back to acting like a puppy until this started. As  for fish oil, vet doesn't want to introduce anything new just yet, he says it is a good idea but with the antibiotics we have to make sure his tummy troubles don't reoccur. So far so good, thanks to yogurt for probiotics.
