I have a few question about feeding my 10 week old Bucky.

I was told to try and get him on a schedule. My problem is this. When I put food down for him to eat he don't touch it  :(  I leave food down for him ALL DAY LONG, reason being is because he eats when he wants to eat.

I end up putting food into the bowl 3x a day but I can't get him to eat at certain times of the day.

How can I get my Dog on a feeding schedule? When I  go to work I crate my dog, I only have a bowl of water in his crate.

What brand dog food would be the best to feed him? I bought the dog when he was 8.5 weeks old. The breeder was feeding him Purina Puppy Chow (This is what i'm currently buying for Bucky also)

If you want him on a schedule I would make it on your terms. it is hard to potty train in my opinion when you free feed. I would put the food down and give him around 15-20 mins to eat and if he doesnt eat take it back up...then put it back down at your second desired feeding time same thing...if he doesnt eat pick it up. Sometimes my puppy will eat and other times he doesnt want to but if he misses one meal you can bet he will not reject the next lol. I think in this way Bucky will become accustomed to your timings and when he is supposed to eat.

As for the food. Maverick was on that too when we brought him home from the breeder but now we have him on Canidae. There are many threads here with regards to good and a lot has to go into your choice such as affordability, taste (if he will eat it or not), nutrients, whether he is allergic to anything specifically etc. I would read up on the dog food threads and start thinking about things from there. Good luck

Well I'm not worried about the cost for dog food. I just want to make sure I'm feeding something that is good for my dog in the long run. At 10 weeks how would you know if he is allergic to something?

I will read up on some of the other threads for dog food then.
