What they are trying to educate you on is the health issues that are common to our breed. I have had 3 heart problem dogs in a row. I have also had some thyroid issues, but those weren't too bad and easily remedied with medication. If you have a heart problems you will have a lot of expense for that dog in the future and they might not live as long as others without the problem. That is what you are up against. I also realize people will do what they want to do regardless, but they are trying to warn you.

thanks all who are helping me on this thread. I just called the breeder and as far as heart testing the sire had an ultrasound and dam a doppler test which were both fine but i read the other tests that should be done to the heart. so im going with you guys in that i shouldnt get a dog from here just because i am not an expert but wanted to know what breeders i should go to. i konw u all dont like to advertise breeders but it would help a lot if anyone could provide a recommendation..

I am not saying you should not get a dog from them. I am just saying there are certain questions you should ask a breeder to make sure that things are done right and you are getting the best dog for your money. :D

Read this site, and the questions that Jennifer Walker - Newcastle Boxers put together. Then you can decide if the breeder is the right breeder for you or not. thats all:)

Having a dog with a lot of health issues myself I would probably skip these for now (your posts seem to suggest a feeling of doubt) and although you can't advertise particular breeders on here I'm sure you can ask people to pm you with recommendations! Good luck! Wait a little while would be my advice - it will save you a lot of heartache and money in future! :)

Also she may say they are hip/heart tested but honestly I would ask for hard copies of this stuff! I came across a few(wont mention names) that also said they had the health tests done then when asked for hard copies they made some excuse up because they really didnt have them done!

If you go onto www.pro-boxers.com she has a list of breeders from all over.

That list is a good starting place but not all of them are good just because they are on the list, all the questions should be asked and answered by both breeder and someone who is going to purchase from a breeder.

Woa, I wasn't aware of that Sully...Not that I would have bought a pup from them, but that is a definite red flag

I personally think their boxers look nothing like the standard and that they have way too many litters a year. I know that you want a puppy now and I know how hard it is to say no once you see those little smooshy faces, but I would seriously pass on this breeder.
