So I was reading a nutrional guide for healthy eating for those with Gout and it dawned on me that It says not to eat no more than 2 servings of fish per week because of Mercury.

I have had Vega on Taste of the Wild Fish blend and I am now conerned about mercury poisnoning in a dog that eats Fish based foods.  I mean if I can get Mercury poisoning then what to say that she won't? I understand that dogs benefit from the fish coat wise and what not but her coat is not worth her life. Would this also hold true for those fish oil additives you can purchase? Has anyone done research about this or knowledge?

Salmon is know to be mercury free.    larger ocean fish like Tuna and swordfish are a bigger concern for mercuy.  Fish oils are screened and herring is also very low on the mercury scale.
