Hello Everyone,

I myself won't be a beloved Boxer owner for a few months yet, but a friend of mine just rescued a malnurished White Boxer female from some terrible conditions. She is very skinny at 35lbs, has quite a bit of muscle left on her though. What would be the best route to go diet wise to help her bulk up to a normal weight ? My friend had gotten her some eukanuba dry kibble adult food for her and I was wondering if maybe for the weight issue if he should/ shouldn't start with a puppy food to get some of the nutrients she needs as well as gain the weight and then slowly transition to an adult kibble.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd start with a trip to the vet's office to check for worms, mange even ringworm.

If that's been done, I'd start experimenting with small amounts of food, so it doesn't make her sick. You could try fresh lamb, beef, or chicken. I heard Butch Blue Label is good. It's a chicken, fish and rice mix.

I'm sure others will have more info for you here.
