Ok so I am thinking about getting another boxer!!! For sure this time I will not buy from a puppy shop ( I learned my lesson with Cato), but there are so many breeders in my area. Does anyone know any good breeders in Florida? Any tips on choosing a breeder? I want to get a white boxer this time, and I don't know who to go to.

Sorry this is new to me!

Don't know any breeders in FL, but a good place to start searching would be a local boxer club.  I'm sure if you go to the American Boxer Club's website you can find links to clubs in florida and find a breeder through them.  Here is the link for the ABC http://americanboxerclub.org/us-boxer-clubs.html
Obviously you know now not to get a pet store puppy, also stay away from newspapers and online classifieds. They are mostly used by puppy mills and backyard breeders.  Reputable breeders on the other hand will have people waiting in line for their pups, or sell all of them through word of mouth.
how old is cato?

And I will disagree not all breeders in the papers are bad.  Sometimes when my mom doesn't have a waiting list (which she almost always does) she will post them in the paper. And my mom will do anything for her dogs.

I think you will have to agree though that MOST likely you are not going to find a reputable breeder in the paper.

Also this lists some upcoming litters -

Not all rep. breeders have waiting list.  Some hold puppies for the right homes.   SO best to start contact now, find a breeder who like as well as agree with their breeding practice and then hopefully you can have a pup from a current litter or upcoming one!

For questions to ask visit Newcastle's site -

****Best to be prepared, take your time and select the right breeder, not the puppy that is just available now - Good Luck!!!!!

I don't know where you live in Florida but there is a bad breeder in Sarasota to stay away from.  I don't think they are breeding anymore as when I google them their website is inactive.  I can't post who it is on this page but can maybe pm you their name.

Be careful...Florida is loaded with BYB's and irresponsible breeders. I got very discouraged on my search for a reputable breeder in Florida. Here is a link to the Southeast Florida Boxer club that has links to some breeders in your area. http://www.southeastfloridaboxerclub.co ... links.html  You can always contact them for referrals on breeders as well.

Are you set on a puppy? Have you thought about rescue? There are so many boxers sitting in foster homes and kennels just waiting for a good home. Here is a link to Boxer Friends in your area. http://www.boxerfriends.org/index.htm

Read through the sticky topics in the breeding forum here to help you learn what you should be looking for in a breeder. This one is great to read through. http://www.boxerforums.com/modules.php? ... opic&t=842

Good luck in your search. I hope you find that perfect dog or pup you are looking for.  :)

I'm currently looking to purchase or adopt/rescue a Boxer puppy down here in Florida as well! Except this time, I want a black one!

I recommend checking out Florida Boxer Rescue. I adopted my beautiful Boxer, Royce, from there and I couldn't be any happier. He had to go through some Heartworm treatment and some mild Demodex treatment as well. They were extremely helpful and made the whole process very easy & non-stressful. Now, he is heartworm & demodex free, and a beautiful healthy white Boxer! Here's a picture of him and also a link to website:

Good luck and if you hear about any black/reverse brindle boxer puppies for sale, please let me know!

I remember Royce! he looks awesome!  :D  I adopted Maddie through FBR as well. I recommended Boxer Friends because they handle the SE part of FL where Catosmommy is. Good luck on your next search.

Lucy and Big Chief are expecting a litter late October making the perfect Christmas gift for your loved one. We will keep you posted with pictures as soon as possible.

Puppies can be resereved with a non refundable $200.00 deposit and will be accepted once puppies arrive and are health tested.
Apparently you do not understand what "health testing" means.
