My source for dog health comes from NS State Vet School and Hospital, one of the best in the USA.

Longevity, Longevity, Longevity, Longevity of gran parents, great gran parents and so on. Holter test are only necessary until at least 5 as the disease rarely show up before that age. If the line of dogs live to 9/10, good but longer is much better.

And if they don't track that it can be a crap shoot regardless of test of parents. Not all breeders do it but the best do.

The American Boxer Club as well as OFA recommends heart holter testing at 12 months of age. It is recommended to be repeated annually through the life of the dogs. You are correct that it usually shows up after 5 yrs of age which is why it is so important to do annual heart screenings well beyond the retirement of your breeding dogs.
