I have found a puppy around 6 months that I have fallen in love with. He is potty trained, crate trained and is good with other dogs. He's in need of a good home and all it is going to cost me would be his plane ride to PEI.
However I need the help of all the boxer lovers on here. My boyfriend and I have talked in the past about getting another boxer in the future but for some reason I don't think he's goig to go for it. I am going to ask him tonight when I get home (so in about 5 hours), so I am trying to think of positive things to say to him so he will say yes. So I guess to all of you out there with two or more boxers....please post with pros (and cons too I guess) to getting a brother for Phoenix...
Help me bring this boy home!

Not sure what you're first pups name is but they need a playmate really bad. Boxers are allready great dogs but a pair is so much better. They amuse themselves for hours on end. Donner is so much a different dog for the better. There is really no down side that I can think of. You're house will be a little messier. Best of luck convincing hubby. :D

The best thing about having two (that I have found) is that they keep each other entertained. Now that we have Cori, Cosmo no longer needs to be by our side at every second because he has someone to play with. Also, we get the benefit of watching them play! They are soooo funny together and it makes us happy to see them interact with each other. We have absolutely no regrets about getting a second boxer. They are quickly becoming best friends (even though they fight/play all the time, they always give each other kisses afterward).

I'm home with Oggie all day and he still seems bored!  I take him to daycare and to play with my friends dogs as much as possible and it still doesn't seem like enough. I'm starting to believe that boxers are better in pairs, I just can't afford it right now.

So we struggled with the same question as well.  Hubby was totally against it and said one was enough!!  But along came Herbie (Maggies brother) and honestly the moment we put them together to see if they would get along it was like fireworks!!  They played for a good hour and a half.  After Herbie left that night Maggie cried and crashed!!  Hubby watched her as her head hung out the kennel and she snored and said maybe two is not such a bad thing.  A week later we brought Herbie home and it has been the best thing ever.  They do everything together all the time!!  They even try to get their huge bodies in each others kennels at the same time to lay down together.  One boxer is great but two are simply amazing!!  Good luck!!

Oh, yea, I agree with EliasVorhees you have to prime the pot so to say...For example, there is this leather maker here now that I really wanted to buy a purse from. It is quite expensive so I had been hesitating. Well, hubby comes up here and says oh, I really think you should buy that for yourself...you work so hard..yada yada yada...all the while he was priming me for new tires for his car!!! So, when he brings up wanting tires, I can hardly comment since I just blew a wad of cash on a purse. Do you know of anything that he really wants???

Well there is nothing that he really wants because what ever he wants he just goes and does it. I came home one day a few months ago and he had bought a racing quad bike. So ever since he's been stripping it and building it back up. Then a few weeks ago he bought a trout fishing boat for this spring.
I'm need to make him see that having two is actually easier than having just one because they have each other and don't need you as much.

Thats awesome.  I think i'm going to go buy a Bass Boat right now!

+1 on getting the California King.  I got mine last summer, greatest bed ever!  Especially if you're tall. I'm 6'6" and the queen wasn't cutting it.

If he goes out and just get what he wants, then you should go and get what you want.  Thats fair.

As long as its not a cat.

To me, the bets thing about 2 Boxers is that they keep each other company..Samson, even tho he can't keep up with Angel just likes her company, they actually sleep snuggled up with each other now....Yes, there is extra cost, but for me personally, the benefits of having 2 greatly outweighs that....
