Try adding yogurt and/or pumpkin to the diet. Both are good for digestion. If the problem continues, you may have to try another food. I've noticed that only certain foods trigger this with my boy
Our two go through spells where they fart alot, we feed them Solid Gold. Sometimes they can clear a room, sometimes there isn't any odor. Everybody also suggests yogurt or 100% pure pumpkin!
I'm guessing it just means they are eating REALLY good stuff...if you think about some of the things that give us gas...cabbage...fruits, veggies...it's actually a GOOD sign!LOL! (I know, we are in a bedroom with THREE boxers who are champion tooters...so, I DO know how bad it gets!) If you find something successful, let us ALL know!
I give Harley pumpkin in his food, and he has gas, but not the stinky kind!!! I know where you're coming from about the gas though!!! When we first brought him home, I thought I would die with the fragrance coming from him behind!!
Nonfat plain yogurt helps with gas. You may have to switch to some other food, though if it becomes too much. Believe me, I know the hassle of finding just the right food. Got Ringer on Merrick and he started gaining weight and stopped licking himself constantly but had terrible diarrhea. Switched to ProPlan sensitive stomach and he now has gas and is licking constantly but is maintaining his weight and doesn't have diarrhea anymore. Will have to make another switch soon to maybe Canidae to see if we can get the right combination. Gotta wait till the proplan is almost gone, though. Can't afford to keep throwing away food.
I agree with the yogurt. We give Luther non fat yogurt with his kibble every morning. I think we give him about 3-4 tablespoons daily. I have not tried pumkin, because the yogurt is working and I am not going to mess with that yet.
